59TH FIFA CONGRESS in the Bahamas

Opening Ceremony

Banquet

HUDSON is proud to have been selected to provide event and production management for the 59TH FIFA CONGRESS at the Atlantis resort in Nassau, Bahamas. FIFA (The Fédération Internationale de Football Association) is the international governing body of world soccer. The annual FIFA Congress brings together delegates from each of the 208 member associations to discuss important topics of the day and to rule on vital issues affecting the entire organization.

HUDSON produced the event’s spectacular Opening Ceremony which included local talent: Royal Bahamas Police Force Marching Band and the Valley Boys, winners of the biennial Junkanoo parade held in the host country; as well as a Broadway revue with critically acclaimed singers and dancers imported directly from the stages of the Great White Way.

HUDSON also assembled an award-winning team of designers who envisioned the exquisite set, lighting, sound, and video of both the Opening Ceremony and the Congress. The company also hired and managed the vendors and crew who helped turn those visions into reality. HUDSON'S head carpenters, riggers, electricians, audio and video technicians worked side-by-side with the local Bahamian crew around-the-clock to transform the 50,000 sq.ft. Imperial Ballroom into a theatrical space with raised seating platforms and a performance stage. The space was then converted overnight into a Congressional assembly hall with seating capacity for over 1,200 people and flags representing each of the 208 delegates running up the aisle.

HUDSON created and oversaw the labor and staging budget as well as the schedule of delivery for the load in and load out of the event which involved 28 shipping containers from various locations in the United States. The company also served as a primary liaison between FIFA, The Atlantis Resort, and participating vendors to uphold the vision and integrity of the 59TH FIFA CONGRESS and to achieve successfully the event’s goals and objectives.
